We asked

Thank you for contacting the Office for National Statistics (ONS) regarding where Indian students live when they come to the UK to study, and the duration of their stay. Although we have not previously published this table, we do hold the data required to produce it.

If you would like to request a data extract, please contact the Migration Statistics team directly (migstatsunit@ons.gov.uk) to discuss your requirements and obtain a cost estimate. Please provide as much information as possible in your request, such as what time periods you would like included and the geographic breakdown required.

As this information is already available to you via this route ONS considers that Section 21(1) applies to this request and the information does not have to be supplied under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. Section 21(1) is an absolute exemption and no consideration of the public interest test needs to be applied.

Please note that ad hoc tabulations of migration and population data for the UK are available to order from the Migration Statistics team (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs, where appropriate), and you do not need to make a Freedom of Information request.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further help on migration or population estimates.
