You previously published a time series of median gross income for all households, from 1977 to 2016 (user request 007767). Could you please provide an updated version of this dataset up to the current year?

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) routinely publish official accredited statistics on Average Household Income, sourced from the Household Finances Survey, most recently available for financial year ending 2024. In Table 20a you can find median equivalised household income at each stage of the tax and benefit system for all individuals, UK, from 1977 to 2024 at 2023/24 prices.
If you would like to obtain data on gross income with a household weighting focus, this can be ordered via our bespoke services. Such services are subject to disclosure controls, legal frameworks, resources and agreement of costs, subject to our charging policy.
