I'm looking for the median London salary - ideally in the year 2000.
However, I would accept any median salary you have that is historical (e.g. in the last few decades/years).
If you don't have median salary, then whatever you have that is most comparable. E.g. Take-home wages or similar.

The Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE), carried out in April each year, is the most comprehensive source of earnings information in the UK. The median gross annual pay for full-time employees in London in 2000 was £24,204. This figure is published in our ASHE Table 3 (Earnings and hours worked, region by occupation by two-digit Standard Occupational Classification (SOC)), in the 2000 edition of this dataset. You can also find this figure and other selected estimates of median earnings for UK employees in our published table Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings time series of selected estimates, which contains data covering the period 1997 to 2025.
ASHE is based on a 1% sample of employee jobs taken from HM Revenue and Customs' Pay As You Earn (PAYE) records. Consequently, individuals with more than one job may appear in the sample more than once. ASHE does not cover the self-employed or employees not paid during the reference period. ASHE information relates to gross pay before tax, National Insurance or other deductions, and excludes payments in kind.
