Further to the 2016 publication, Intimate personal violence and partner abuse, is it possible to have the same statistics with category of victims confined to a) those who were actually assaulted (not just threatened); those who were injured; those who were sexually assaulted. And then to break this down by female/male responses for each.

Thank you for your request.

We do hold Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) datasets which relate to the year ending March 2015 (and the publication that you have referenced). However, we do not hold the specific information you have requested.

This is because the analysis would not have produced accurate information owing to the structure of the questions within the CSEW. For example, respondents may have been victims of multiple offences (which differ in the level of physical force used / injury inflicted) over a 12-month period. The question relating to injuries the respondent has suffered refers to any incidents of assault experienced by the respondent in the last 12-months. However, the CSEW only asks respondents to think about the most recent incident when collecting information about the influence of drugs and alcohol. This means we cannot link the answers to these questions to the same incident.

If you would like to discuss any further data requirements with us, please do feel free to contact us via crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk.
