You asked
I would like anonymised data on all infants and children who died between 2015 and 2018 (as a sample excluding unusual covid patterns).
One row should represent one individual, with the following columns:
- Date of birth
- Date of death
- Weight at birth
- Sex
- Ethnicity
- Region
- Cause of death
- Place of death
- Pre-existing medical conditions
Plus any other routinely collected data which can conveniently be included.

Thank you for your request.
We are unable to supply the requested information at individual record level in response to a Freedom of Information request. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders the disclose information held by the Statistics Board for statistical purposes that would identify an individual an offence. As we are prohibited by law from publishing statistics in which individuals can be identified, Section 44 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies.
De-identified birth and death registration data is deposited into the ONS Secure Research Service. You may wish to look into applying for access as an accredited researcher. Instructions for applying to this service, and the terms and condition for its access and use, can be found via the following link: Research Project Accreditation.
