The number of Greeks residents in the UK in 2017
The number of Greek students in UK universities in 2017.
Types of employment for Greek residents in the UK at the moment.
We said
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding the numbers of Greek nationals who were resident or studying in the UK in 2017, along with the types of employment they may be engaged in.
With regard to the number of Greek nationals resident in the UK, the data are to be found in our Population by Country of Birth and Nationality table 2.3 for 2017 and are broken down by sex. Also in this spreadsheet is Greece as a country of birth (table 1.3), which slightly differs in definition from Greek nationality.
Our Population by Country of Birth and Nationality: individual country data contains the data for Greek nationals by local authority in table C and for those born in Greece in table A.
Please note these data are estimates based on a sample survey called the Annual Population Survey (APS), and as such are not exact counts.
When accessing any of our files, please read the 'notes, terms and conditions' contained within them. We do not hold information on the number of Greek students living in the UK in 2017, however the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) publish data by country of domicile, with Table 10 containing some information on Greek students. Please contact customer.services@hesa.ac.uk if you require any further information on this.
Lastly, we do not publish labour market data on Greek nationals, however these data could be made available on an ad-hoc basis but may incur a charge. If this is still something you would be interested in please do let us know.
