We said
Thank you for your request regarding a full breakdown of victim satisfaction with the police following violent crime from the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) for the year ending March 2025.
Data relating to our Perceptions and experience of the police and criminal justice system, England and Wales: year ending March 2025 article are available in the accompanying Perception and experience of police and criminal justice system, England and Wales dataset. Table 14 presents the proportion of incidents in which victims were satisfied with the police, by crime type. Satisfaction in this table is defined as incidents where the victim reported being either "very satisfied" or "fairly satisfied" with the police response. Data for the year ending March 2026 are also available on this page.
Unfortunately, we do not hold a full breakdown of response categories requested. To produce this, we would need to undertake additional analysis of the underlying survey microdata and apply statistical expertise and judgement to create new information. Under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000, public authorities are not obliged to create new information in response to requests. This information therefore is not held.
However, CSEW microdata are available through the UK Data Service and may be used to undertake your own analysis, subject to the relevant access conditions. Please see the UK Data Service help page for information on accessing data from the UK Data Service.
If you have any other crime-related queries, please email crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk and we will endeavour to help you.
