I would like to request mortality data relating to food allergen reactions.
Specifically, I would like to request:
- The number of deaths registered in the United Kingdom on an annual basis from 2017 to 2024 (inclusive), where the underlying cause of death or contributing cause is linked to food-related allergic reactions.
- Where available, I would like the data to be split into year of death registration, age group and gender.
If possible, I would appreciate the data in a format such as Excel.
If the exact breakdown requested is not available, I would be grateful for the closest available alternative, along with any guidance on how best to interpret the data for academic use.

We have published figures for deaths due to food allergies for deaths registered in each year from 2012 to 2016 in a request published on our website. These figures were produced for a bespoke tabulation via our user requested data service.
Up-to-date information on deaths due to, and involving, food allergies, along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order, subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreement of costs in line with the ONS Charging Policy.
