Thank you for your request.

Please see the following answers to your questions.

1. No. of individual rights requests under DP legislation received and completed for the 2020-21 financial year (or specifically SARs if other info not readily available)

We have received and completed 30 Subject Access Requests (SARs) in the Financial Year 2020-2021 (1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021).

We have received and completed 1,684 Freedom of Information requests in the Financial Year 2020-2021.

In case it is of interest, our Freedom of Information (FOI) request statistics are published on the Cabinet Office website up to Quarter 4 of 2020. This information is accessible via the following link: Cabinet Office: Freedom of Information Statistics.

The above total number of FOI requests received and completed include the totals published on the website in the main tables plus requests where we have applied a Section 21 exemption. Section 21 exemptions are not included in Cabinet Office Statistics totals and are presented separately on the published spreadsheets for each quarter. Of the total above, 360 of these were Section 21 exemptions.

3. Total number of requests received and completed under both legislation for 2020-21.

The total number of requests received and completed under both legislation for FY 2020-2021 is 1,714.

ONS does not have dedicated request handlers.

Data protection requests are processed by both the Legal Services and Data Governance, Legislation and Policy teams, alongside their other functions, with a combined FTE of 17. Freedom of Information requests are processed by the Legal Services team, alongside their other functions, who have 6 FTE staff.

6. Average number of requests completed per month per FTE for 2020-21. An overall average monthly figure for the year is fine here. If possible, again, a separate figure for FTE request handlers only as above.

As above, we do not have dedicated request handlers.
