Thank you for your request relating to sex offenders.

We have published some information relating to the sex of offenders and victims for sexual offences in our Sexual offending: victimisation and the path through the criminal justice system article. Specifically, Table 13 in the Sexual offending: Crime Survey for England and Wales appendix tables shows the sex of offender of rape or assault by penetration by the sex of the victim. These data are from the Crime Survey for England and Wales for the years ending March 2014 and March 2017 combined.  Unfortunately, these are the latest data we currently have available on this topic.

Table 2 in the Sexual offending: Ministry of Justice appendix tables may also be of interest to you. This presents data on defendants proceeded against at a magistrates' court by sexual offence type and sex. Please be aware that these data are for the year ending December 2017 and, at present, we do not hold any more up to date data on this topic. These data are provided to us by the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). They may be able to help you further. They can be contacted at: ESD@justice.gov.uk
