You asked
In response to a freedom of information request you published data on emigration and missing last departures, 2022 to 2024.
You published a breakdown by EU+ and non-EU showing that missing last departures are a greater proportion of emigration for non-EU. Is it possible to get a similar breakdown by of missing last departures but by individual country – perhaps for the larger countries of immigration and emigration which your provide statistics for in “Long Term International Migration”.
We said
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.
We publish long-term international migration into and out of the UK by nationality. However, we do not create long-term international migration estimates by country of birth, countries of origin prior to arriving in the UK or countries of destination when people leave the UK. Therefore, unfortunately we do not hold information showing a country-level breakdown of missing last departures among emigration estimates in a recorded form and to fulfil this request, we would need to create new information, which we are not obliged to do under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).
We have not created this information previously because our estimates of missing last departures among long-term international emigration estimates for EU+ and non-EU+ visa holders are produced using broad nationality groupings, specifically EU+ and non‑EU+.
