Thank you for your request.
We do not publish statistics on the number of domestic abuse offences or incidents at a local authority level. The lowest geographical area we publish these statistics at are police force area level.
Our data tool, and tables 5 and 8 from our appendix tables published alongside our Domestic abuse in England and Wales year ending March 2017 publication may be helpful to you. The tables detail the number of domestic abuse-related incidents and offences recorded in the years ending March 2016 and 2017. The tool details figures from the year ending March 2017. Police recorded crime is collated and provided to us by the Home Office. They may be able to help you further, you can contact them at CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk
We do not hold information regarding the opinion of domestic abuse victims in terms of re-housing after experiencing the abuse. However, Table 39 within the appendix tables referenced above details characteristics of women using refuge services and community based services in England. This outlines the number and percentage of women who travelled from a different local authority area to seek refuge and community based services. It should be noted that these figures may be influenced by other factors such as refuge availability and specialist needs of the victim, rather than the victim’s personal choice. These data are figures from the Women’s Aid Annual survey, and were collected on the 13th October 2016. Please note these findings are based on domestic abuse services which responded to the survey, and therefore it is unclear whether these findings are representative of all domestic abuse services. If you have any further questions on these findings, you can contact Women’s Aid directly at info@womensaid.org.uk.
We do not produce statistics on homelessness. However, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government publish statistics here. The live tables may be helpful to you as they provide a breakdown at a Local Authority level. For further information on these data, you can contact them directly here.
