FOI reference: FOI-2026-3753
You asked
I would like to make a FOI request into the average distance female prisoners are held from their permanent residence. If you hold the average for each prison in Scotland (with a breakdown of which prison has what average), that would be very helpful.

Thank you for your enquiry.
Unfortunately, we do not hold the information you have requested.
We produce statistics on crime in England and Wales, primarily based on the Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) and police recorded crime data. We do not hold information on the distance that prisoners in Scotland are held from their permanent residence.
Crime and justice statistics for Scotland are produced by the Scottish Government. They may be better placed to assist with your request and can be contacted at Justice_Analysts@gov.scot.
If you have any other queries relating to crime in England and Wales, please contact the Crime Statistics team at crimestatistics@ons.gov.uk.
