I request the number of deaths registered in each calendar year from 1950 to the most recent available, split by country of birth of the deceased: UK-born vs foreign-born (non-UK).
If the split is not available for the full period, provide combined totals for the earlier years and state from which year the split begins.

We are responsible for the production of mortality statistics for England and Wales. We hold data pertaining to deaths and country of birth for years 1985 to 2025. Some of the data we hold has already been published, and the rest is available via bespoke user request.
We have produced and published a number of datasets related to deaths and country of birth. Please see:
Deaths registered in England and Wales from 2004 to 2018, by country of birth: UK, EU and Non EU
Deaths by place of birth and country of death: 22 March 2021 to 30 June 2024
We have not produced data for the number of deaths by country of birth for the years 1985 to 2001, 2003, and 2025.
However, we can create a custom output. Information on the number of deaths by country of birth for years 1985 to 2001, 2003, and 2025, along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order. Such services are subject to legal frameworks, resources and agreement of costs, subject to our charging policy.
