In the following postcode areas how many people died, both in hospital and out of hospital, from trauma related conditions (ICD-10 codes - All S codes and T0-32 (inc), T71, T75, T75.1 and T75.4) each year from 2004 to 2014?

Greater Manchester (postcode area codes: All M postcodes, All BL and OL postcodes, SK 1-12 (inc), WA13-15 (inc))

Wales (postcode areas CF, NP, SA)

Greater London (http://www.postcode-info.co.uk/greater-london-postcodes-375.html)

I presume that the data will reflect place of death rather than the persons home postcode. It would be very helpful if they could be broken down into sex and age group (10 year groups).

Thank you for your query regarding mortality data.

Routine sub-national mortality statistics are based on where the deceased was usually resident therefore your request requires a bespoke data extract.

Special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate). Such enquiries should be made to: mortality@ons.gov.uk. We recommend that you contact the Mortality Analysis team directly in order to discuss your data requirements in more detail.

As this information is already available to you via this route ONS considers that S21(1) applies to this request and the information does not have to be supplied under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act. S21(1) is an absolute exemption and no consideration of the public interest test needs to be applied.
