I was wondering if you could provide me with the following data:
Number of deaths per month, by sex, by age every year starting 2018 to date May 2025.
I assume you can't categorise those deaths? If you do have that data it would be helpful.

We routinely publish the number of deaths registered each month by area of residence in England and Wales.
We have previously published statistics on the number of deaths by age, sex, and month, England and Wales, January 2000 to August 2024.
We have also published the statistics with cause breakdowns of death occurrences by age group in England between 2014 and 2023.
Information on the number of deaths per month by sex and age for the whole of 2024 and provisional figures for 2025 are available to order via our bespoke services route. These are subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs in line with our Charging Policy. Please contact Health.Data@ons.gov.uk for further advice on this service.
As this information is reasonably accessible via another route, even if only accessible on payment, Section 21(2)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies.
