1. Total daily deaths, with stratification by:
- Sex (Male / Female)
- Age group (under 18, 18--55, 55--70, over 70)
2. Cause-specific deaths, including:
A. Diseases of the circulatory system
- Total deaths
- By sex
- By age group
B. Diseases of the respiratory system
- Total deaths
- By sex
- By age group
C. Other causes (i.e., non-circulatory and non-respiratory)
- Total deaths
- By sex
- By age group

We are unable to disclose daily death statistics by electoral ward due to the risk of individual identification and the need to maintain confidentiality. In accordance with our disclosure control policies, the most detailed geographic level available for this data is the regional level. Further information on our confidentiality and disclosure policies can be found in our Policy on protecting confidentiality in tables of birth and death statistics. As such, this information is exempt from release. Section 39 of the Statistics and Registration Service Act 2007 (SRSA) renders it an offence to disclose information held by the Statistics Board (ONS) for statistical purposes that would identify an individual, whether living or deceased. As we are prohibited by law from publishing statistics in which individuals can be identified, Section 44(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) applies.
We could create a custom output for some information you request and for higher levels of geography. Information on daily deaths by region broken down by age-group and sex, as well as daily deaths by region for specific causes, age-group, and sex along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales, are available to order, subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs.
