Please can I request the number of crimes recorded per month in London, UK between the between 1 January 2013 to 31 January 2021. Please can the numbers be recorded per month as I am researching seasonal trends in crime?

We produce data on crime primarily from two main sources:
Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW) -- a household victimisation survey that asks respondents about their experiences of crime, regardless of whether the incident was reported to the police.
Police recorded crime (from the Home Office) -- offences that are reported to and/or recorded by police forces in England and Wales.
Unfortunately, we do not hold information from these sources showing the requested monthly data for London specifically.
The estimates we hold showing the proportion of victims of CSEW headline crime by region are available in Table A2 of our most recent Annual supplementary tables for the year ending March 2025. Previous years' data for the London area can be found in Table D2 of our Annual Trend and Demographic tables. We have only created these estimates annually, so unfortunately we do not hold this information by month.
Our most recent Appendix tables include published estimates of Police Recorded Crime, and in particular, Table A5b provides monthly crime totals by offence for July 2023 to June 2025. However, we have not created these estimates broken down by the London area.
You may also be interested to see our Police Force Area data tables. These include total recorded crime (excluding fraud) by area (e.g., London, including City of London and Metropolitan Police). However, we have not created these figures by month.
Data on police recorded crime figures are provided to us by the Home Office. They may be able to assist you further with your request and can be contacted via CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk. In addition, the Metropolitan Police publish data on monthly crime statistics on their Crime Dashboard.
