Please supply the reported number of COVID-19 related deaths (since records began) for people over 80 years who have 1 or more underlying health conditions.
We said
Thank you for your enquiry regarding deaths involving COVID-19 for over 80s years of age with pre-existing conditions.
We hold the following analysis on Pre-existing conditions of people who died due to COVID-19, England and Wales. This is updated quarterly. This shows COVID-19 deaths by broad age group (0-64 and 65 and over) and pre-existing conditions. There is a finalised data set for 2020 and a provisional dataset for Quarter 1, Quarter 2 and Quarter 3.
Unfortunately, we do not hold analysis showing deaths involving COVID-19 by the specified age group and pre-existing condition. In order to fulfil this request, we would need to create bespoke analysis. Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Public Authorities are not obligated to create information to respond to requests. However, we may be able to create this analysis or something similar as an ad hoc output. Information on COVID-19 deaths by specific age group for 2020 only, along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales, are available to order. These outputs are subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate. Such enquiries would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime and should be made to: Health.Data@ons.gov.uk.
