1. The total value of the courier service contracts that were outsourced?

2. The name of your primary and any secondary Courier supplier

   • The value of your primary supplier contract, its expiry date and the services they provide (e.g. same day/next-day/overnight)
   • The value of your secondary supplier's contract, its expiry date and the and services they provide (e.g. same day/next-day/overnight)

3. The total cost of the courier services that were managed in-house?

   • The number of staff employed in managing those contracts
   • The number of vehicles owned or leased to meet the in-house courier requirement

4. The name and email of the person responsible for the procurement/management of these services?

Thank you for your request. The answers to your questions are as follows;

1. Total value of Courier contracts that were outsourced by us in 2017 to 2018 was £71,499.03. £23,993.03 to Parcelforce and £47,506 to City Sprint.

2. The name of the primary supplier was Parcelforce Worldwide. The name of the secondary supplier was City Sprint.

   2a. We have a rolling contract with Parcelforce which is reviewed on an Annual basis. This was sourced via a Crown Commercial framework and no other suppliers were able to provide the national coverage we required.

   2b. Our Facilities Management provider, Vinci, also have their own arrangement with City Sprint which costs £59,557.90 annually.

   2c. We also piggyback the UK Intellectual Property Office's (IPO) City Sprint agreement for inter-site courier, where one man in a van drops off and collects at Newport, Titchfield and London sites over a 12 hour period. This service runs Mon – Fri, saving us £16k a year.

3. We do not manage any courier services in-house.

4. One member of staff manages the Parcelforce contract. Vinci and IPO manage their respective City Sprint arrangements. Details regarding the persons responsible have been withheld as personal data under s.40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
