Please could you find out the total cost (or an approximation thereof), of the collective mass of Freedom of Information requests since the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Thank you for your request. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) does not hold details of the total cost attributed to answering Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
To provide an estimate of the cost would be impractical for a variety of reasons. Requests are answered by a variety of different business areas across ONS. Depending on the content of the request, the time taken to respond could vary considerably.
ONS has received approximately 1,200 FOI requests in the last four years.
