You asked

Please can you let me know the total cost of the Coronation of King Charles III. On top of the £25 million estimated costs, please include cost of street parties, policing, blocking of road, armed forces and loss of productivity from the bank holiday.

Unfortunately, we do not hold the specific information in scope of your request. 

Regarding the loss of productivity as a result of the bank holiday, productivity is measured as output divided by inputs. We measure output as the Value Added to the UK economy and our preferred input measure is the number of hours worked.

Considering hours fall during a bank holiday alongside the decrease in output, there is conceptually no impact on the level of productivity as the numerator is impacted by the same extent as the denominator. Hence, we don't measure the specific effects of bank holidays to productivity.

You may be interested in our Gross Domestic Product (GDP) monthly releases. These do not provide a direct estimate on the coronation, but may have some data that you find useful for your area of interest. We will publish data for May 2023 on 13th July.
