Please can you provide me with data on:

1) Consumer spending on clothes (preferably women's clothing if possible) by cities/area in UK. For example, UK cities that spend the most and least on women's clothing.

2) Which countries purchase clothing the most from the UK (again preferably narrowed down to Women's clothing if possible)?

Thank you for your enquiry.

1. We publish average weekly household expenditure on men's and women's clothing by UK country and region based on 3-year averages in the following bulletin: Family Spending in the UK: Statistical bulletins. For example, see table A35 in the spreadsheet linked here, which provides estimates for financial year ending March 2020.

We have also published experimental estimates of consumer spending on clothing and footwear (as separate items) for regions and sub-regions of the UK for 2018.

Our sub-regions correspond to NUTS2 (Nomenclature of Units for Territorial Statistics (NUTS) classification); 41 sub-regions mainly groups of counties and unitary authorities.

Annual estimates for total household expenditure by commodity are shown in table 2 and household expenditure per head in table 1.

2. In terms of UK exports of clothing by destination country this is available from HMRC trade statistics on a monthly basis through exploring the data tables https://www.uktradeinfo.com/trade-data/

Data are available for detailed commodity codes related to women's wearing apparel, with knitted items shown separately.
