I am writing to request updated demographic information for Hayling Island, ideally using the most recent available census data (2021 where available), for use in a local accessibility project examining mobility and access to services on the island.
I would be grateful if you could provide, for Hayling Island specifically:
Total population
Age distribution (particularly proportions aged 65+, 50+, and working age)
Number and proportion of residents reporting disability or long-term health conditions
Number and proportion of residents with limited day-to-day activities due to health or disability
Household composition, particularly single-person older households
Car ownership/households without access to a vehicle
Any available local dependency ratio or ageing population indicators
If possible, I would also appreciate any comparison with Portsmouth or Hampshire averages where available.

Thank you for your request.

These data were downloaded from Nomis, a service provided by the University of Durham on behalf of the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Comparative datasets for Portsmouth and Hampshire can be downloaded directly from Nomis. Navigation instructions are included with the associated download document.
