You asked

Can you please give the annual statistics for violent crime in London for each of the last 10 years?

We said

Thank you for your request.

Our Police force area tables present some violent crime offences in London. However, tables P1-P4 of the latest version only include the years ending June 2023 and June 2022. Previous years are available but these will not include the latest data. Table P6 is the number of knife and sharp instrument offences recorded by the police for selected offences from Year ending March 2011. Table P8 is the number of firearm offences from year ending March 2010.

The police recorded crime and outcomes open data tables produced by the Home Office have a more detailed version of this data going back to 2003. The tables are available by police force area and the lower geography of Community Safety partnership area. You can filter the files to the exact area and offence you require.

The Home Office can be contacted by email: CrimeandPoliceStats@homeoffice.gov.uk

The Metropolitan Police also have a dashboard on crime trends, which can be found here.

Please also see the associated download named 'London violence YE Jun 23', which provides a collection of tables previously produced.  All other dates and offences are available in the police recorded crime and outcomes open data tables.
