Please provide statistics on the number of companies in the UK broken down by the age of the director(s). This can be a broad age range rather than specific ages for example 20-24, 25-29, 30-34 etc. I'd like information going back 5 years if possible.

Unfortunately we do not collect information on the age of company directors. We do produce employment estimates broken down by occupation from the Annual Population Survey (APS). As the APS is a household survey it does not produce estimates at a company level. The most recent estimates are available via NOMIS here:

We use the UK Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) to categorise occupations. Further information on SOC can be found here:
SOC includes categories that include directors, however there is no category that solely measures company directors. Unfortunately, there is also no age breakdown by SOC as we do not hold estimates at this level of detail.
