Turnover and Orders in the Production and Services Industries time series dataset May 2012

This dataset contains estimates for the claimant count (which measures the number of people claiming Jobseekers Allowance) and vacancies.

This dataset contains Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) series. The AWE is the ONS's headline measure of short-term earnings growth. The data is derived from the Monthly Wages & Salaries Survey, a survey of employers.

This dataset provides price movement data at all manufacturing, aggregated industry and product group level. It consists of data supplied from individual UK manufacturers, importers and exporters. Indices for the latest two months are provisional due to the level of imputation present for items where the latest prices are not available. The latest five months are subject to revisions in light of (a) late and revised contributor data and (b) revisions to seasonal adjustment factors which are re-estimated every month.

Cost indices (purchase of materials and fuels, average weekly earnings, general expenses and combined costs) relating to four aerospace and electronics industries. The data are based on the Standard Industrial Classification SIC (2007) and are calculated on a base year of 2005=100. The indices are widely used by government and business as an authoritative source of information on inflation, cost adjusting and price variation in trading contracts. Indices for the latest two months are always provisional and flagged with a "p" marker due to the level of imputation present for items where the latest prices are not available. This level of imputation reduces significantly for earlier months, allowing index data to be published as firm values. Occasionally, new information produces a change in the value of an index already published as firm. Where change is significant, index values are recalculated and annotated with an "r" marker.

Time series dataset: UK trade is a key economic indicator due to the importance of international trade to the UK economy. It is also a very timely statistic, providing an early indicator of what is happening more generally in the economy. In addition, it is a major component of two other key economic statistics – UK Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the UK Balance of Payments. This means that there is a threefold potential for UK Trade statistics to inform the Government’s view of the UK economy, as well as the views of others, such as economists, City analysts, academics, the media, and international organisations.

Quarterly National Accounts time series dataset Q1 2012

This release contains quarterly net investment data arising from financial transactions (investments) made by insurance companies, self-administered pension funds, investment trusts, unit trusts and property unit trusts. Quarterly balance sheet data for short-term assets and liabilities are also reported. Income and expenditure data for insurance companies and self-administered pension funds are also reported quarterly.

RSI time series data

This dataset contains the main labour market statistics data series. All of the series in this dataset are available in spreadsheet format from the labour market data tables. In this dataset Labour Force Survey (LFS) estimates are shown for the mid-month of the three-month average time periods. For example, estimates for January-March 2011 are shown as "February 2011", estimates for February-April 2011 are shown as "March 2011", etc.

This dataset contains the seasonally adjusted and non-seasonally adjusted time series of UK public sector employment, containing the latest Q1 2012 estimates.

The Monthly Review of External Trade Statistics is intended to supplement the information contained in the monthly National Statistics Statistical Bulletin on UK trade. This April 2012 issue of the monthly review is consistent with the figures shown in the UK Trade Statistical Bulletin of 15 June 2012.

This publication presents a quarterly analysis of UK exports and imports of goods grouped according to the activity of which those goods are principal products. Data are presented according to the classes of the 2008 Classification of Product by Activity (CPA(08)). All data are shown on a seasonally adjusted Balance of Payments basis at current prices, which provides a comprehensive set of CPA (08) trade in goods figures fully compatible with the National Statistics Balance of Payments and National Accounts outputs.

Business investment estimates are a short term indicator of capital expenditure by manufacturing and non-manufacturing businesses within the UK.

Contains a first estimate of retail sales in value and volume terms, seasonally and non-seasonally adjusted. The dataset also includes estimates of retail sales via the Internet and a limited breakdown by commodity in value non-seasonally adjusted terms.
