Aim of this survey
Open-Ended Investment Funds: Quarterly Return of Transactions collects information about the investment in, and holdings of, various financial products at the end of the quarter.
The data are supplied to national accounts customers for use in the financial and sector accounts and the compilation of UK gross domestic product (GDP) estimates within the UK National Accounts and the UK Balance of Payments. There are numerous other users within and outside government who use the data to produce various financial analyses and to inform policy decisions.
What you need to know
To complete the survey, you will need the following information:
the reporting period, your short-term assets, your longer-term investments, your transactions, your liabilities, comments to explain significant movement and contact details
a full list of all funds within the trusts, open ended investment companies (OEICs) or investment companies with variable capital (ICVCs) included in the questionnaire
All information you provide is strictly confidential.

Why you were selected
Your trust has been selected from a list of UK registered authorised unit trusts. The Open-Ended Investment Funds: Quarterly Return of Transactions is conducted under the provisions of the Statistics of Trade Act 1947. Once selected, your trust is legally obliged to comply. You cannot appeal your selection.
Why you have received this survey
We survey trusts of all sizes to ensure our statistics are representative of the UK economy. We select large unit trusts (with fund values above £500 million) for this survey because their information is so significant.
We select some small and medium trusts, usually for a set period, then replace them with other trusts from their industry.
