The Public Sector Management Practices Survey (PSMPS) collects information from organisations across the public sector about their management practices. 

We survey organisations of all sizes and types to ensure that our statistics are representative of the UK public sector. 

This survey is sent to organisations in: 

  • central government; 

  • local government;  

  • police and fire services;  

  • health services

  • education 

What you will you be asked about:  

  • The use of targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) . 

  • Performance management.  

  • How your organisation responds to problems.  

  • Technologies used by your organisation.

The information will be used to further investigate how management practices relate to productivity, as well as to capture detail on how public sector organisations operated in 2023. 

Your contribution will help us to understand the productivity challenges faced by organisations in your sector and help to inform policymakers.
