We have corrected the following errors in our 2024 dataset:
In tables 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 13, one death from 2023 was registered as both a stillbirth and a neonatal death. This was caused by an error in the registration process. With this correction, the number of stillbirths and perinatal deaths decreased by one and the number of live births increased by one.
In table 8, the numbers and rates for the “all gestational ages” category only included events from 24 weeks of gestation onwards. This was caused by the use of outdated code from a previous version of our analytical process. With this correction, all gestational ages are now included in this category.
In tables 5 and 8, a small number of values for unlinked births and deaths by ethnicity were missing. This was caused by a minor coding error. With this correction, these values have now been included.
In tables 9 and 10, individual values for England and Wales were incorrect. This was caused by a technical issue affecting our use of the code that processes them. With this correction, these values are now correct.

We have corrected errors in the 2023 edition of our workbook.
In Tables 1 to 7, 9 to 19 and 21 to 24, one death from 2023 was registered as both a stillbirth and a neonatal death. This was caused by an error in the registration process. With this correction, the number of stillbirths and perinatal deaths decreased by one and the number of live births increased by one.
In Table 3, stillbirths in Northern Ireland were mistakenly reported as 0, which affected the perinatal deaths and stillbirths in Northern Ireland and in the UK. This was caused by a coding error and has now been fixed.
In Table 18, the data rows for some ethnic groups in Wales were mislabelled. This was caused by human error and has now been corrected.
