Shows economic activity as measured by Gross Value Added (GVA) for English regions, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland including component totals and industry group totals.

Updated January 2014

The reference tables within this publication were originally published with missing data for GVA per head and GVA per head indices, owing to a delay in the release of 2011 Census revised population estimates for Scotland. Since then the Scottish Government has published revised mid-year population estimates for the whole of Scotland for the years 2002 to 2010, allowing the calculation of UK per head estimates for these years. We have now updated these tables to include GVA per head for the whole of Scotland, and per head indices for all areas in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Revised population estimates for lower level areas within Scotland are expected to become available in the spring of 2014, and we will issue a further update in the summer to complete the tables.
