Shows economic activity as measured by Gross Value Added (GVA) for English regions, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland including component totals and industry group totals.

Updated July 2014

The reference tables and timeseries dataset within this publication were originally published with missing data for GVA per head and GVA per head indices, owing to a delay in the release of 2011 Census revised population estimates for Scotland. Since then the Scottish Government has published revised mid-year population estimates for the whole of Scotland for the years 2002 to 2010, allowing the calculation of UK per head estimates for these years, and has recently published revised population estimates for the lower level areas within Scotland. We have now updated the tables and timeseries dataset to include GVA per head in £ and indices for all areas in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
