Services Producer Price Indices for Quarter 4 2011

ONS publishes an analysis of the characteristics of young unemployed people, including how the proportion of them in full-time education has changed over the years, how different levels of qualifications affect the chances of unemployment, and how youth unemployment varies across the regions and compares with that in other EU countries. There is also analysis using claimant count data looking at the types of jobs that young claimants are looking for.

There are two tables of UK Electoral Statistics reflecting the number of electors registered to vote in the UK on 1 December 2011. Table 1 outputs local government electors by local government areas. Local government areas are unitary authorities, London boroughs and district councils in England

The PSF Statistical Bulletin, is published jointly by ONS and HM Treasury on a monthly basis, and provides the latest available measures for key public sector financial statistics such as Public Sector Current Budget (PSCB), Net Borrowing (PSNB), Net Debt (PSND) and PSND as a percentage of GDP. These key indicators are provided on two bases. One set includes the temporary effects of financial interventions made in response to the financial crisis that began in 2007, such as the establishment of public ownership/control of several major banking groups. An alternative set of indicators, the so-called ‘ex-measures’, excludes the temporary effects of financial interventions.

A comprehensive selection of data on input and output index series. Contains producer price indices of materials and fuels purchased and output of manufacturing industry by broad sector.

Construction output is a monthly series of the output of the construction industry in both the private and public sectors. Current and constant price not seasonally adjusted data by sector are published along with a quarterly series of constant price seasonally adjusted index data and value data by sector.

Monthly estimates of completed international visits to and from the UK and earnings and expenditure associated with these visits.

UK Trade is a key economic indicator due to the importance of international trade to the UK economy. It is also a very timely statistic, providing an early indicator of what is happening more generally in the economy. In addition, it is a major component of two other key economic statistics – UK Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the UK Balance of Payments. This means that there is a threefold potential for UK Trade statistics to inform the Government’s view of the UK economy, as well as the views of others, such as economists, City analysts, academics, the media, and international organisations.

Previews two statistics bulletins on Alcohol-related deaths in the UK and Suicides in the UK

This annual bulletin presents alcohol-related death figures and age-standardised rates for the UK, England, Wales and regions of England for 2010. Country-level figures for Scotland and Northern Ireland are not presented separately here. Figures for 2000-2009 are presented for comparison purposes.

This bulletin presents the latest suicide figures for the UK, England, Wales, and Regions in England. New figures are presented for 2010 with previously released figures for 2006 to 2009 for comparison purposes. The potential impact of the increasing use of narrative verdicts by coroners on suicide rates at regional level in England, and in Wales, is also presented.

Preliminary estimate for Gross Domestic Product (GDP) containing constant price Gross Value Added (GVA) data for the UK. Data is available split by industrial sector.

Shows the monthly movements in gross value added for the service industries, which overall account for around 76 per cent of UK Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
