Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to know the following information:
- A list of all names for children born in Essex per year between 2018 and 2023 (inclusive)
- For the above (1), please state exactly how many children were born with each name

Baby names for each year between 2018 and 2021 are published in our Baby names in England and Wales release.
We do not include breakdowns by county in the release and therefore baby names for Essex are not available. However, there is data available by county district.
The county districts which make up Essex are:

- E07000070: Chelmsford

- E07000077: Uttlesford
The release of baby names for 2022 will now be published as part of our Births Characteristics bulletin scheduled for publication on 17 May 2024.
Dates for 2023 Baby Names publication will be set after main Births data for 2023 is published (planned for summer/autumn 2024). For future publication dates please check our release calendar.
If you wish to obtain this information sooner, we could create a dataset as a custom output. These services are subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources, and agreements of costs, in line with the ONS Charging Policy.
