Average age of death is available in our Average age at death, by sex, UK publication. This provides mean, median and modal ages at death in the UK and its constituent countries, 2001 to 2003 and 2017 to 2018.

If this does not meet your needs, we may be able to create a bespoke output. Information on average age of death over the past decade, along with other special extracts and tabulations of mortality data for England and Wales are available to order (subject to legal frameworks, disclosure control, resources and agreements of costs, where appropriate).

Such enquiries would fall outside of the Freedom of Information regime and should be made to: Health.Data@ons.gov.uk.
