You asked

We are conducting a research about disabled people in the UK and would be interested in receiving by email the number of Spanish nationals disabled people living in the UK. We would also appreciate a breakdown by age. Please provide this data for the latest year available.

Thank you for your enquiry.

The annual Labour Force Survey (LFS) collects the nationality of all respondents within the sampled household, but asks the questions used to determine disability only of respondents aged 16 years or older. Therefore, estimates of Spanish nationals who are disabled could be produced for ages 16 and over. Custom tabulations from the LFS are available for a charge, subject to confidentiality frameworks and technical limitations, by request from the Data Advice Relations Team at the email address socialsurveys@ons.gov.uk

The 2011 Census asked both nationality and the questions used to determine disability for all ages, but is obviously not as current as the data that could be provided by the LFS. Custom tabulations from the 2011 Census are available for a charge, subject to confidentiality frameworks and technical limitations, by request from Census Customer Services at the email address Census.Customer.Services@ons.gov.uk
