Suicides among full-time students, as defined by National Socio-Economic Class (NS-SEC) classification. Figures are split by sex and usual place of residence, and are for deaths registered in England and Wales between 2001 and 2017.
The numbers detailed in this data set cannot be used to ascertain the risk of suicide among students. Year-to-year differences in numbers of deaths may merely reflect change in the population of students across time as opposed to change in the risk of suicide.
