Thank you for your Freedom of Information request asking for the population of Totnes, Bridgetown in Totnes and the deprivation statistics for Bridgetown.

We published small area population statistics at Ward level on 25 October 2018. On row 6501 of the downloadable table you will find the data for the Totnes ward.

To get data below ward level go to the Nomis website, click on Query Data in the Data Downloads box, then on Population Estimates/Projections – Population estimates – small area based by single year of age, then Geography, then 2011 output areas (OAs). Then there is a menu of local authorities (starting with Adur). Select South Hams, then tick 'Use maps to select areas' and this will allow you to zoom in on Totnes and select the OAs which cover the part of the town you are interested in. Once you have selected the OAs, you can then make any other selections and then 'Get your data;' from the box on the left hand side of the screen.

The Ministry for Housing, Communites and Local Government produce the indices of multiple deprivation, you will be able to find them here.
