Thank you for your request.

The dataset accompanying the Provisional weekly deaths in England and Wales publication provide the number of deaths involving the coronavirus (COVID-19) that occurred and were registered on each day in the UK by country and English regions. The specific tables of interest are titled 'COVID19 – Daily registrations' and 'COVID-19 – Daily Occurrences'. These show geographic breakdown to regional level. Unfortunately, we do not have provisional figures at county level.

We only hold death registration data for England and Wales. However, we have collaborated with the constituent countries to produce headline figures for the UK. This information is available is the Provisional weekly deaths in England and Wales publication, including a table that presents daily COVID related deaths for the UK, broken down by country and English regions.

If you require any further information for Scotland and Northern Ireland, National Records Scotland (NRS) and Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) would be better placed to assist. They can be contacted at foi@nrscotland.gov.uk and info@nisra.gov.uk respectively.

The following link: All data related to Deaths registered weekly in England and Wales, provisional: week ending 6 November 2020, provides three publications containing provisional numbers of deaths registered in England and Wales, by age, sex, region and local authority up to week ending 13 November 2020.

Please be aware that there are differences in the way COVID-19 mortality data are reported by us and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). Up until July 2020, we produced a separate article looking at daily deaths produced by the us compared with death notifications reported by DHSC. Please refer to Section 7 of the ONS weekly deaths article 'Comparison of weekly death occurrences in England and Wales' for further information.
