Child population and hospital data for South London and other regions

You asked

1. Please provide the up to date data for the number of children under 16 years age in South London (London on South side of Thames), and South East England only including Kent, Surrey and east/ central Sussex.

2. For the same area, the square area of the region

3. Please provide the number of paediatric hospital beds in each hospital in South London (London on South side of Thames), and South East England only including Kent, Surrey and east/ central Sussex.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information requests about the number of children under 16 in South London, some of the counties of South East England, their size and the number of hospital beds used for paediatric patients.

1. The latest available figures for population are the mid-2017 Population Estimates for UK, England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland which breaks the figures down by local authority and single year of age. Once you have downloaded the zip file the table you need is MYE2-All

2. Table MYE5 from the above file gives population density and shows the size in square kilometers of each administrative area.

3. We do not hold any data about hospital beds and suggest that the best source for that would be NHS Digital; enquiries@nhsdigital.nhs.uk
