Thank you for your Freedom of Information request regarding the ethnic composition of the city of Coventry in 2018, including changes since the 2011 Census and compared with the national average.

The latest data are from the 2011 Census, therefore any comparison to be made regarding changes in the ethnic composition would need to be made between the 2011 and 2001 Census’. The data for 2011 can be found on the Nomis website local authority profile for Coventry and data for 2001 can be found in the Key Statistics section, if Coventry is chosen within the ‘area’ dropdown box on the left within the link.

The data nationally for ethnicity are based on England and Wales only. The latest National Statistics on ethnic group are from the 2011 Census, however these are not the latest data available (we have produced ad hoc population denominators for later years). These can be accessed via our website, if you type ‘ethnicity’ or ‘ethnic’ into the search bar (they yield slightly different results).

Please be aware the ethnicity facts and figures website may be of interest to you and contains data disaggregated to regional level.

When accessing any of our files please read the 'notes, terms and conditions' contained within them.
