​​I would like to request statistics on the number of people in England and Wales that have had successful appeals against convictions based on false confessions. I would like this data from 1992 until the most recent available. I can understand if data on all appeals is not available, so smaller data sets such as only violent crimes, serious crimes or murder appeals that were successful.

We publish data relating to crime statistics from two main sources: The Crime Survey for England and Wales and crime recorded by the police which focus on the victims of crime. Neither of these sources hold data related to your request.
