You asked

I am a third year mental health student nurse and have been attempting to find some statistics for one of my assignments. I am currently having difficulties finding these and was hoping you could point me in the correct direction?

I need statistics on the following from 2011 onwards:

  1. The amount of reported incidents of self injurious behaviour.
  2. Crimes committed by individuals due to mental health conditions.
  3. Injuries caused by care received from nurses or professionals.

Thank you for your request. I can confirm the requested information is not held by the Office for National Statistics (ONS). In relation to question 2, ONS does produce crime statistics but we do not produce statistics relating to crimes committed by individuals due to mental health conditions. We can also confirm that the Home Office do not produce these figures so we are unaware if they are produced.

In relation to questions 1 and 3, again we do not hold this information. It may be worth contacting the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC) to see what they are able to supply.
