You asked

The information I require is total COVID-19 cases broken down by age and total COVID-19 deaths broken down by age.

I would like to have the data from March 2020 to March 2021.

Thank you for your request.

The COVID-19 Infection Survey is a representative household survey which started on 26 April 2020, therefore we do not have data prior to this date. Our statistics refer to infections reported in the community, by which we mean private households. These figures exclude infections reported in hospitals, care homes or other institutional settings.

In the dataset accompanying our latest bulletin you can find the estimated percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19 by age/school year and non-overlapping 14-day periods (weighted) in England from 26 April onwards on tab 1i.

In this dataset you can also find the modelled estimates of daily rates of the percentage of the population testing positive for COVID-19 by single year of age:

  • In England on tab 1h
  • In Wales on tab 3e
  • In Northern Ireland on tab 4e
  • In Scotland on tab 5e

This breakdown by single year of age is available from 17 January 2021, which can be found in the dataset accompanying the bulletin on 12 March 2021. This data can then be found in subsequent bulletins available here and accompanying datasets available here.

You may also wish to contact Public Health England (PHE) for further information, as they are responsible for the COVID-19 dashboard. They can be contacted via the following email: wn_coronavirus@phe.gov.uk
