  • In Quarter 3 of 2011, the deficit on trade in goods widened by £2.6 billion to £27.6 billion, compared with the deficit of £25.0 billion in Quarter 2 of 2011.

  • In Quarter 3 of 2011, total exports rose by £0.1 billion (0.1 per cent) to £74.2 billion, but total imports rose by £2.7 billion (2.7 per cent) to £101.8 billion.

The value of UK exports and imports of goods grouped by industry. Goods are attributed to the industry of which they are the principal products.

This publication presents a quarterly analysis of UK exports and imports of goods grouped according to the activity of which those goods are principal products. Data are presented according to the classes of the 2008 Classification of Product by Activity (CPA(08)) for the first time in this publication.
