Unemployment in December 2011 to February 2012 was 2.65 million, down 35,000 on the previous three months. Employment was 29.17 million (up 53,000) and inactivity stood at 9.27 million (down 25,000).
Comparing December 2011 to February 2012 with the same period a year earlier, unemployment had risen by 172,000 and employment had fallen by 57,000.
