As part of the Gross Fixed Capital Formation post production quality assurance process, errors have been identified in the Gross Fixed Capital Formation series.
The following publications and associated time series have now been corrected:
Quarterly National Accounts - 2012 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2.
United Kingdom Economic Accounts - 2012 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2.
Business Investment - 2012 Quarter 1 and Quarter 2.
Chapter 9 and table 8.4 of the 2012 edition of the Blue Book is currently inconsistent with these publications. Further quality assurance work is ongoing and a correction to the relevant Blue Book tables will be published as soon as possible.
For Business Investment time series data, the error affects quarterly data in 2004, for series:
DSG5, DS39, DS3H, DS3S, DS84, DS8K, DS7U, DS8C, DSG6, DS9R, DS9Z, DSG7. DS3T, DSG8, DS3B, DS3J, DS3Y, DS86, DS8M, DS7W, DS8E, DSG9, DS9T, DSA3, DSH2, DS3Z, DSI2, DS6W, DS7I, DS3U, DS3W, NPEN, DS3N, DSI3, DS6Y, DS7K, DS42, DS43, DS44, NPEL.
The error also affects the quarterly data in 2005 Q2, for series GAN5, GAN6, GAN9, GAO2. All other periods remain unchanged.

Business investment in seasonally adjusted terms rose by £0.3 billion to £30.1 billion (0.9 per cent) when compared with the previous quarter.
Business investment increased by £0.9 billion (3.1 per cent) when compared with the second quarter of 2011.
Total manufacturing investment rose by £0.2 billion to £3.1 billion (5.9 per cent) when compared with the previous quarter.
Total non-manufacturing investment rose by £0.1 billion to £27.0 billion (0.3 per cent) when compared with the previous quarter.
Compared with the second quarter of 2011, total manufacturing investment fell by 1.5 per cent; total non-manufacturing investment rose by £0.9 billion (3.6 per cent).
