As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, ONS periodically reviews and where appropriate improves the data sources, methods and processes used for compiling estimates. As part of this commitment, in the 2013 UK National Accounts new production systems were introduced for compiling investment estimates, which included improved data sources, methods and processes. This article looks at the methods used to produce investment estimates and the changes introduced in 2013. It also looks at forthcoming changes for the 2014 UK National Accounts.
