Crime Statistics - Nature of Crime tables, 2011/12
The Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW, previously known as the British Crime Survey), is a victimisation survey in which people resident in households in England and Wales are asked about their experiences of crime in the 12 months prior to interview.
The tables presented here are based on the findings from CSEW interviews conducted in the 2011/12 financial year and give a picture of the nature of bicycle-theft, burglary, household theft, personal theft, vandalism, vehicle-related theft and violent crime.
These tables expand on the information provided in the main release 'Crime Statistics, Period Ending March 2012' and should be read alongside this earlier publication.

8. Crime Statistics: Nature of Crime tables, 2011/12 - Children aged 10-15 (Excel sheet 177Kb)
The figures presented here are from the 2011/12 Crime Survey for England and Wales (CSEW).
Since January 2009 the CSEW has asked children aged 10 to 15 resident in households in England and Wales about their experience of crime in the previous 12 months. Refinements to the questions and definitions used in the questionnaire mean that direct comparisons between years and between adult and child data cannot be made.
The Children aged 10 to 15 Nature of Crime tables include data on where and when incidents happened, information about offenders, the victim's perception of the incident, whether the incident was reported, whether injuries were sustained or weapons were used in violent incidents and what items were stolen in theft related incidents.
