Data on smoking taken from the 2011 General Lifestyle Survey including questions on cigarette consumption, type of cigarette smoked, how old respondents were when they started smoking, and dependence on cigarettes.

The 2011 General Lifestyle Survey Overview report marks 40 years of results from a continuous household survey. The survey has monitored changes in the demographic, social and economic characteristics of households, families and people in Great Britain. These are some of the key changes measured by the survey during this time on drinking patterns and consumer durables.

Reference table contains alcohol-related deaths data for males and females in the UK, 1991 to 2011.

Measuring National Well-being: Life in the UK 2012 provides a unique overview of well-being in the UK today. The report is the first snapshot of life in the UK to be delivered by the Measuring National Well-being programme and will be updated and published annually. Information such as the unemployment rate or number of crimes against the person are presented alongside data on people’s thoughts and feelings, for example, satisfaction with our jobs or leisure time and fear of crime.
