Quarterly estimates of people who have ever or never used the Internet

These reference tables provide estimates of adult internet users and non-users in the UK, by age, sex, disability, region,gross weekly pay and when adults last used the internet.

This is part of a series of short articles examining the well-being of older people aged 50 and over using measures related to the Measuring National Well-being Programme. The Office for National Statistics measures of well-being are organised into ten domains with each domain having between three and five separate indicators. More information about all the measures can be found in the ‘National Well-being wheel of measures’.

This release looks both at how households access the Internet and adults' use of computers. It will be useful for those interested in how people connect to the Internet in their homes and help inform debate on digital and social exclusion.

This release provides estimates of the values of e-commerce and the adoption and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) by UK businesses. The source of the information is the E-commerce Survey of UK Businesses. The 2011 survey selected approximately 7,700 UK businesses with 10 or more employees, in the manufacturing, distribution and parts of the service sectors of the economy. Estimates of the levels of e-commerce are calculated using total turnover from the Annual Business Survey (ABS).

On 19 May the Olympic Torch will begin it's journey around the UK. It will take 70 days to traverse the UK finishing on 27 July at the opening ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics. The torch will stop at a location every evening for a celebration. This map showcases the wealth of data available for an area by allowing users to click on a stop to find summary statistics for that area, including statistics such as unemployment rate, average house price and life expectancy.
